ALASKA NEW ICING RULE

Alaska is participating in a pilot program this season. As such, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget Tier I and Tier II teams will not be allowed to ice the puck when shorthanded from September until State tournament time. Therefore, icing will be in effect all game long at this level.

This does not apply to girls games or non-national tournament bound teams.

The rule applies to all games played between Nationally bound youth teams only. All games- league, non-league, exhibition, tournaments, etc- all games. When playing a non-nationally bound youth team (girls and/or rec teams), the game will be played under the current icing rule as printed in the rule book. The icing pilot program will be handled just like checking rule. Meaning that when playing a non-checking team, there is no checking. Therefore, when playing a team that doesn't fall under the pilot program, both teams play under the non-pilot program rules.
